You probably already know about the terrific, 2nd Annual Texas Night Sky Festival® to be held on Saturday, March 18, 2017 at the Dripping Springs Ranch Park in (where else?) Dripping Springs, just west of weird (that’s Austin). It will be a great and grand festival, full of fun, and you can read all about it on the website at wwww.texasnightskyfestival.org.
But what you probably don’t know about is what follows the Festival. The Texas Chapter of the International Dark Sky Association (TxIDA) and other folks interested in reducing light pollution are getting together at 9:00 am the morning after the Festival (that is, Sunday, March 19, 2017) for a Meet and Greet BRUNCH. It will be a chance to hear some details about night sky protection efforts in Texas and network with TxIDA members as well as others who are interested in the whole issue of night sky preservation. We’ll post the details and RSVP instructions on www.TexasNightSkyFestival.org and here on IDATexas.org as soon as they’ve been worked out. So, for right now, just SAVE THE DATE and keep up the fight for our Texas night skies!
Keep ‘em shining!
